Dr. William Scheiber
Staff Veterinarian / Owner
Dr. Scheiber has been the owner of Huntingtin Veterinary Hospital since 1995 when he purchased it from the previous owner.
He was born and raised here in Huntington. It was around 7th grade that he knew that he wanted to get a job in the veterinary industry after he went to an appointment for his dog. After high school he completed 4 years of under grad, then 4 years of vet school at Purdue.
Dr. Scheiber loves to fix things, so he enjoys the challenges that come with complicated cases. He finds being able to diagnose a pet and educate the owners on the issues and how the treatment works to be greatly rewarding. He has a special interest in treating pets who have cardiac problems because their condition can be managed with medication if the condition is caught and treated early enough.
In his spare time, Dr. Scheiber enjoys the outdoors but especially enjoys spending family time at the lake swimming and boating.
Dr. Jacob Speicher
Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Speicher began working at HVH when he was in high school and continued to work during his breaks until he graduated from Purdue University. He earned his DVM from St. George University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. He enjoys small animal medicine with a specific interest in Oncology, Orthopedics and Alternative Medicine. Dr. Speicher is a licensed Acupuncturist and provides acupuncture and other alternative medicine therapies for companion animals . He shares his home with his wife, their young son, and their Sheltie Quinn.
Dr. Christine M. O’Leary
Staff Veterinarian
Dr. O’Leary is originally from New York state. She received her undergraduate degree from Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, VA. She earned her Master’s Degree in Cell and Organ Systems Physiology from the University of Delaware. Dr. O’Leary practiced in New York for a year after receiving her Veterinary Degree from St. George’s University in 2009. She moved to Indiana in 2010, and is currently working at two veterinary hospitals in our area. Her veterinary interests include ophthalmology and endocrine disorders. Dr. O’Leary is married, and she and her husband have one son and one dog. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Anastascia Eckert
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Eckert joined the team in June 2024. A Huntington native, she pursued her undergraduate studies at Ohio State before earning her veterinary degree from Iowa State. Drawn back to her hometown by a desire to be close to family and give back to the community that shaped her, she is passionate about providing compassionate care to pets and their owners.
For Anastascia, veterinary medicine is more than a career—it’s a rewarding journey filled with problem-solving and meaningful connections. She thrives on the challenges each day brings and finds joy in helping clients care for their beloved pets. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, staying active, and spending time with her family and her dog, Indy.
Sue Scheiber
Office Manager
Sue Scheiber has been an integral part of Huntington Vet Hospital since 2000, wearing many hats over the years. A lifelong Huntington resident, she studied Nursing at Purdue and worked at Huntington Memorial Hospital before transitioning to veterinary medicine. When balancing on-call schedules with her husband, Dr. Scheiber, became a challenge, she made the switch to HVH—and she’s been a key part of the team ever since.
Family is at the heart of Sue’s life, and she cherishes time with her husband and three sons. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys sports and has a passion for fishing, boasting the unique achievement of fishing in three different countries—plus Alaska—all in the same year. Looking ahead, she hopes to travel more and gradually shift toward a well-earned work-life balance.
Jamie Bentz
Head Registered Veterinary Technician
Jamie has been a dedicated member of our hospital since 2014, working her way from part-time all the way to Head Veterinary Technician. A Huntington native, she pursued her passion for animal care by attending Huntington North High School’s animal science program before earning her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from the International Business College – Vet Tech Institute. Her lifelong love for animals made veterinary medicine a natural career path.
She and her husband, Joe, live on a farm, where she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and being with family, friends, and her beloved animals.
Tiffany Schortgen
Registered Veterinary Technician
Tiffany started with Huntington Veterinary Hospital part time in 2002 when she was still in high school. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from Purdue University in 2005, she was offered a position at HVH. Tiffany has a special interest in Animal Behavior and Dermatology. She and her husband Zach have 4 children. They have one cat named Horton. Tiffany has a special place in her heart for German Shorthair Pointers.
Kabrina Boyd
Registered Veterinary Technician
Kabrina is a Registered Veterinary Technician at Huntington Vet Hospital, where she has been working since 2015. Born and raised in Huntington, Kabrina graduated from Brown Mackie College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Her passion for veterinary medicine started in childhood, as she has always loved being around animals and helping them when in need.
Outside of work, Kabrina lives on a farm with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, as well as reading and being in the barn.
Lenette Dobbins
Veterinary Assistant
Lenette is a graduate of Bentley Senior High School. She worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 6 years in Shreveport, Louisiana before joining Huntington Veterinary Hospital in October of 2014. She has a love for animals, her dog Lucyfur, and cat Fedor. Lenette has been married for 20 years and has 2 boys and a grandson.
Mindy Beekley
Veterinary Assistant
Mindy began working for Huntington Veterinary Hospital in 2010 and has previous experience in canine training. She was born and raised in Roanoke, IN. She is a Board Member of the Huntington County Humane Society as well as a member of Huntington County Animal Ordinance Committee. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and she loves the outdoors.
Misty Dennis
Veterinary Assistant
Life-long resident Misty was born an animal lover! That’s why she has shared her home with a number of four-legged family members over the years. She is especially good at giving TLC to geriatric and special needs pets. Misty is a board member at the Huntington County Humane Shelter. When she’s not working, Misty loves playing with her 2 children. She wants to continue her education in an animal-related field.
Taylor Scher
Veterinary Assistant
Taylor has been a Veterinary Assistant at Huntington Vet Hospital since April 2023, fulfilling a lifelong passion for animal care. Born and raised in Huntington, she always knew she wanted to work with animals and found her calling in a profession where she can help them every day. Her dedication to providing compassionate support to both pets and their owners makes her a valued part of the team.
Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs. She also loves staying active and can often be found at the gym, balancing her love for animals with a commitment to health and fitness.
Allisyn Evans
Veterinary Assistant
Allisyn joined Huntington Vet Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in April 2024, driven by her deep love for animals. She finds fulfillment in caring for each pet that comes through the clinic, knowing she is making a difference in their health and well-being. Her passion for animal care makes her a compassionate and dedicated member of the team.
Outside of work, Allisyn enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and beloved pets. Whether relaxing at home or out and about, she cherishes the connections she has with both people and animals.
Elle Beals
Veterinary Assistant
Elle is an Assistant at Huntington Vet Hospital, with aspirations of becoming a technician in the near future. A lifelong resident of the area, she values the close-knit community and small-town atmosphere. She holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) from Brown Mackie College and is passionate about using her skills to care for animals and support their well-being.
For Elle, veterinary medicine is more than a job—it’s a calling. She knew she was in the right profession the first time she was able to help a sick animal recover. Outside of work, she enjoys life on her hobby farm, learning new skills, and spending quality time with her wonderful family and their ever-growing group of beloved pets.
Sarah Powell
Veterinary Assistant
Sarah joined Huntington Vet Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in August 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in animal behavior. With a decade of work as a certified dog trainer, she has a deep understanding of the connection between health and behavior. Originally aspiring to become a veterinarian, she found her passion in training and now enjoys applying her knowledge to help pets and their owners. After living in Tennessee and Louisiana for her husband’s job, she and her family returned to Indiana, where she is excited to be part of the local veterinary community.
Outside of work, Sarah stays busy with her husband, two children, and their lively household of five dogs and two cats. She has a special love for dog sports and enjoys training her Border Collies, hiking, and expanding her knowledge through continuing education. Her dedication to both animal health and behavior makes her a valuable part of the Huntington Vet Hospital team.
Sarah Miller
Veterinary Assistant
Sarah joined our hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in October 2024, eager to combine her love for animals with her passion for learning. Born and raised in Huntington, she graduated from Huntington North High School in 2021 and is excited to be working in her hometown. She finds fulfillment in caring for animals and is always eager to expand her knowledge in veterinary medicine.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their three pets—a dog and two cats. She loves being outdoors, crafting, and traveling whenever she gets the chance. Her enthusiasm for animal care and dedication to learning make her a great addition to the Huntington Vet Hospital team.
Erica Mistak
Veterinary Assistant
Erica has been a Veterinary Assistant at Huntington Vet Hospital since February 2020, combining her lifelong love for animals with her passion for helping others. Originally from Arizona, she moved to Huntington in 1997 and graduated from Huntington North High School in 2007. She later earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Ivy Tech in 2010 before finding her perfect fit in veterinary medicine.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys a busy and fulfilling life with her husband and six children. Their home is shared with four cats and two dogs, making for a lively household. She loves spending time outdoors, hiking, and creating memories with her family.
Mary Laurie
Receptionist
Mary is a friendly face at Huntington Vet Hospital, where she serves as a receptionist. A lifelong Huntington resident, she has always had a deep love for animals and once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Now, she enjoys being part of a team dedicated to pet care, helping clients and their furry companions feel welcome and supported.
Outside of work, Mary cherishes time with her large family, including her two grown children and four grandchildren. She also shares her home with a dog and a cat. When the weather allows, she loves spending time outdoors, whether working in her yard or simply enjoying nature.
Melissa Taylor
Receptionist
Melissa has been a welcoming face at Huntington Vet Hospital since November 2022, bringing years of experience in communication and customer service to the front desk. A lifelong resident of Huntington, she takes pride in serving her community and ensuring every client and pet feels at home. From the moment of her interview, she knew she had found the perfect place—surrounded by a compassionate team, wonderful clients, and, of course, plenty of adorable animals.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys time with her family, including her husband, two daughters, and their beloved dog and cat. In 2024, she welcomed her first grandchild, a little boy already growing up with a love for animals. In her spare time, she channels her creativity into making and selling jewelry and custom t-shirts, many of which are inspired by her passion for pets.
Jamie Tackett
Receptionist
Jamie joined Huntington Vet Hospital as a receptionist in December 2024, bringing a strong background in business administration and a lifelong passion for helping others. A Huntington native, she previously worked in nursing homes and was involved in a transitional program supporting women and children. Her deep love for animals and a heartfelt prayer led her to this new role, where she is thrilled to connect with clients and their pets every day.
Outside of work, Jamie cherishes time with her husband of 25 years and their daughter. As the oldest of six siblings, family is at the heart of everything she does. She also has a deep love for photography, capturing life’s most treasured moments through her lens.
Maddi Miller
Receptionist
Maddi joined Huntington Vet Hospital as a receptionist in August 2024, bringing her lifelong love for animals to the team. Originally from Wabash, IN, she has called Huntington home for over 20 years and graduated from Huntington North High School in 2019. Helping pets stay happy and healthy is a passion for Maddi, and she enjoys being part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of both animals and their owners.
Outside of work, Maddi loves spending time with her fiancé and their pets—her beloved fur baby, Polly, and her ball python, Ivory. She also enjoys reading and cherishing quality time with her family.
